We started talking about what we could do and came up with a ‘Phantom Gourmet’ style show to showcase the freshest, the finest, the flavorful Fitchburg.”Ĭardinale said the first order of business was coming up with a list of restaurants and spots to feature on the new show. ![]() We mesh well together and we both have very similar personalities, and we have been told it would be great if you guys did a show together. “We were talking about how FATV is thriving. “I stopped by the mayor’s house to do a celebratory shot and Alex was there,” Ginisi recalled. The idea for Forks was sprouted on Christmas Eve last year over Ginisi’s homemade limoncello. Because they run in similar circles in the city, they have known each other for years. They both serve on the FATV board of directors and Ginisi was recently appointed to the Fitchburg Airport Commission and was elected secretary. “That is how my knowledge of the area came about.” Forks Over Fitchburg hosts David Ginisi and Alex Cardinale visited Cozy Corner Coffee Shop for the premier episode. “I promoted the city as a tourism destination and worked hand in hand with the business community,” he said. He worked at the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, which is based in Fitchburg, as the Marketing and Communications Manager for several years. Ginisi, a new city resident as of last fall and Chief Marketing Officer for Montachusett Home Health Care Corporation in Leominster, said his connection to Fitchburg “transcends” him living there. My parents always instilled in my brother and I to be proud of where we come from and to give back and be involved as much as you can.” She loves the city probably more than she loves herself, maybe too much. “My mom Joanne was born and raised in Fitchburg and her nickname is Mrs. “My family has been around Fitchburg for a long time,” she said. She currently works for the operations team in the admissions office at FSU and moved to Leominster with her husband five years ago. Cardinale, the daughter of Mayor Stephen DiNatale, was born and raised in Fitchburg, graduated from the high school, and attended Fitchburg State University. ![]() It is an upbeat format, and we are really enthused about the initial response from the viewers.”īoth Cardinale and Ginisi have ties to the city. “Forks over Fitchburg serves up something that appeals to everyone - food. “FATV is always looking for new community-based programs,” he said. The first episode has been getting a lot of buzz. “We want to visit them and give them some publicity.” “There are a lot of places that people may not even know are around,” Cardinale said. Owner Mike Dupuis cooked up some of his famous stuffed pork chop with asparagus wrapped in bacon as well as mashed potatoes and broccoli for the two hosts. The first episode spotlighted Cozy Corner Coffee Shop at 144 Lunenburg St., a warm and welcoming neighborhood spot that offers comfort food at its best. “This could not come at a better time right now to highlight these new establishments and also the ones that have been the cornerstone of Fitchburg that have been around for so long.” “There is an economic uprising happening in Fitchburg and because of that there is a lot of diversity coming onto the scene in terms of restaurants and businesses,” Ginisi said. Cozy Corner Coffee Shop owner Mike Dupuis cooked up some of his famous stuffed pork chop with asparagus wrapped in bacon for the two hosts of Forks Over Fitchburg at his Lunenburg Street eatery. The show features hosts Alex Cardinale and David Ginisi visiting eateries and sampling a variety of foods and cuisines around the city.
